The Issue

The heart-wrenching story of Oreo, a beloved black Goldendoodle unlawfully taken away from his loving home, has sparked an urgent need to address a grave injustice. On February 24, 2025, Oreo escaped from his home, got picked up by a neighbor, and was handed over to California Doodle Rescue – an organization expected to protect, not tear families apart. Instead of returning the dog, they placed him in a foster home and misrepresented the circumstances of his acquisition.

This egregious act saw Oreo, a cherished support companion for a 7-year-old boy, treated as a stolen object rather than a family member. In the most troubling twist, when the organization was questioned about its actions, it decided to further hide Oreo. He was last seen on March 4, 2025, in the company of the "rescue's" CEO, Suzanne List, at a vet in Sherman Oaks.

Each day Oreo spends away from his family, the anguish intensifies, especially for the young boy who is missing his emotional support. We urgently plead for the return of Oreo and demand that the organizations that are meant to protect animals are held accountable for their actions. It's time to reunite Oreo with his rightful family and ensure nothing like this ever happens again in the name of animal rescue. Please, sign the petition to bring Oreo home and push for fair and transparent practices in animal rescue organizations.
