Demand Justice for Mikayla Evans and Hold Johnson City Police Accountable
The Issue
Mikayla Evans, a resident of Kingsport, TN, was in Johnson City, TN the night she suffered a horrific ordeal in 2020 when she fell or was pushed from a five-story window. Despite surviving this traumatic event and the subsequent discovery of her assailant's criminal activities involving child exploitation, the local police department failed to take appropriate action. This man was not charged with attempted criminal homicide or attempted murder and was allowed to continue his heinous acts due to lack of intervention by the authorities.
Mikayla's rights to due process were grossly violated. She has since started Speak Up Speak Out, a business aimed at giving voice to victims like herself who have been let down by those sworn to protect them.
This is not an isolated incident in our community. There are numerous cases where victims' pleas for justice have been ignored or dismissed by law enforcement officers. It is deeply concerning that such violations are occurring within our own police force - individuals we trust with our safety.
The failure of the police department in handling Mikayla's case raises serious questions about their commitment towards protecting citizens' rights and ensuring justice is served. The fact that several lawsuits have emerged against them further underscores this issue.
We demand an immediate investigation into Mikayla's case and those similar which have been neglected or mishandled by the Johnson City Police Department. We call upon local government officials to hold these officers accountable for their actions - or lack thereof - and implement stricter regulations within law enforcement agencies.
Stand with us as we fight for justice for Mikayla Evans and all victims whose voices have been silenced by those who should be protecting them instead. Everyone deserves to be heard on what happened to them and who done it!
