Demand justice for Gypsy! Beat for 4 min. with a trailer hitch!

State Attorney Fredrick Cushmore
Palm Beach County, Florida

We, the undersigned, are calling for true justice for Gypsy — a defenseless, four-year-old dog who endured unspeakable cruelty at the hands of Gabriel Martinez that was captured on video. We respectfully urge Judge Caroline Cahill Shepherd and prosecuting State Attorney Fredrick Cushmore to pursue and deliver the maximum sentence allowable under the law for this heinous act of animal abuse.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Gabriel Martinez, 34, was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty under Florida Statute 828.12 after a deeply disturbing incident occurred in a Boca Raton residence. Surveillance footage and a sworn arrest affidavit reveal that Martinez viciously beat Gypsy with a metal trailer hitch, cornering her against a fence and striking her multiple times while yelling threats and profanities. WARNING: Video is disturbing! https://rebrand.ly/JusticeforGypsy

The footage, time-stamped and verified, shows this brutal attack lasting over four minutes. During this time, Martinez can be heard saying, “Once I get you you're dead,” and “You f***** b****. You are going to get put down.”* The abuse only ended after Gypsy collapsed, whimpering and bleeding.

A veterinarian’s report confirmed the extent of Gypsy’s suffering:

A broken paw
Multiple limb fractures
Bone contusions
Abdominal bruising
Significant and prolonged pain
Gypsy may face permanent injuries, including the possible loss of a limb. This is not just a case of cruelty — it is a case of torture.

We ask that Gabriel Martinez be held fully accountable. This was a deliberate, prolonged, and violent act that has left lasting trauma and injury on an innocent animal. Anything less than the maximum sentence would be a failure to acknowledge the seriousness of this crime and the suffering inflicted.

We also urge the public to attend the plea hearing on 10/10 at 8:30 am. Court Date Scheduled - PC - PLEA CONFERENCE - 10/10/2025 8:30 AM - 10F (Main Branch) MB, 205 N. Dixie
Highway West Palm Beach FL 33401

Let this case set a precedent: Animal cruelty is not a minor crime. It is a violent offense that must be treated with the full weight of the law.

Justice for Gypsy!
