Leader (the black goat above left) and Robin (the off-white goat above right) were originally saved from a cruelty case in February of 2021 along with 25 other goats by Leanne from Goats of Anarchy (@goatsofanarchy).  All of the goats at the property had been severely neglected. Goats were taking shelter in a small shed that had bodies of deceased goats in there as well. With all of the snow, there was nowhere else for them to go. The shed was also filled with several inches of manure, and there was no food or water for anyone and there hadn't been for some time. Many of their hooves were several inches long and rotting so many of them were struggling to walk and in pain. Pregnant mothers, newborns, and babies lived in the shelter full of feces and decaying bodies. One goat was in labor when officials from Animal Control and the USDA and the Humane Law Enforcement Officer arrived. Some goats had untreated illnesses or were hypothermic from the cold weather and snow. Many mothers had lost their babies and their children were decaying right next to them, and one of those mothers still had her rotting afterbirth clinging to her. It was the scene of nightmares. 

The goats were all placed into new homes at Rancho Relaxo, Riley Farm, Gratitude Gate, Road to Refuge and other sanctuaries. Three goats named Robbie, Jimmy, and Larry went home with Goats of Anarchy, and the three oldest goats - Hank* (who was at the time named Beard), Leader, and Robin went to live with Ashley DiFelice at Twist of Fate. 

Regarding two of the goats mentioned above: sadly Robbie past away in 2022 from a disease called Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis, and the same illness caused Larry to need a leg amputation. (CAE is a contagious viral infection in goats). However, both Jimmy and Larry are doing well and thriving in their home at GOA, happy to be away from the terrible situation that they were rescued from. 

In July of 2022 Hank was rescued again, this time from Ashley and Twist of Fate. He was taken away from her and the eerily similar scene of nightmares to the one described above, and went to live out the rest of his days with Leanne at Goats of Anarchy. 

Tragically Hank was the only survivor of these three friends. In the first days of trying to sort through all that Ashley had done, Leanne was on the scene and spent hours combing through the pile of dead animals and every skull lying among rib cages strewn all over the property - she was the one that saved Leader and Robin from their previous "home" and knew that she would be able to recognize them by their horns and could then properly identify them and lay them to rest along with the all of the other deceased animals. Sadly Leanne was unable to locate their bodies. 

Where were Robin and Leader? What happened to them? Did they pass away from medical issues? Old age? Were they starved to death? Unfortunately we may never know. 

I only have a few photos of either of them, either from a post that Leanne made or a single older Patreon post of Ashley's. One of the only photos that I have of Leader is shared at the bottom of the original petition, pictured with the friendly barn cat named Bravo*. Here is the Patreon post caption from that photo dated March 30, 2021, which would have been around a month after Robin & Leader's arrival at TOF: 

"Bravo is fearless and really loves all of the animals who live at TOF. Today. He met Leader who is a goat we recently took in from a severe neglect case. I'm pretty sure Leader has never seen a cat before because he stared at Bravo for about 10 minutes, followed him and then debated on whether or not he should head butt him! Needless to say, it ended on a good note and no one got hurt!"

We will all hold the memory of the two handsome goats Leader and Robin in our hearts and mourn their deaths, and hope that their passing was as quick and painless as it possibly could've been.

Ashley's next court date is Thursday, November 2nd. According to the last court date on October 12th, additional charges are supposed to be filed against her at this time.
