My 9-year-old daughter courageously came forward in June 2024, revealing a dark secret she had been forced to keep. She admitted that her maternal grandmother's boyfriend (JAMES MARTIAN O'KANE of mountain top Pennsylvania) had been sexually assaulting her while in kinship care (luzerne county children & youth placed my children with these people & ignored all concerns about sexual abuse) for years at his friends (RONALD KEEFE of Plymouth twp Pennsylvania) home while taking photos & videos according to my daughter. After which they would threaten her very life if she dared to speak out. The threats were severe and repugnant; these men promised to murder her if she ever broke her silence. They also bought her toys and dresses to keep her silent according to my little girl.

My daughter did break the silence after years of abuse & degradation. She bravely spoke out, seeking justice and protection. Yet, the response from the very institutions established to protect victims like her has been shockingly disappointing.

The district attorney's office in LUZERNE COUNTY is denying her the justice she rightfully deserves. Despite the state police corroborating her ordeal and affirming that she had indeed been sexually assaulted, the district attorney continues to refuse to file charges at this time.

This disregard for my daughter’s ordeal reflects a deeply rooted problem lurking within Luzerne County's justice system. Reports suggest this instance of denied justice is not isolated but mirrors a pattern of misconduct and negligence in the handling of child sexual assault cases. Raising awareness about the county court corruption is paramount to rectify its negligence towards child victims of sexual assault and to ensure no other child or family endures what we have.

Our plea is simple: We demand the district attorney to bring charges against those who shattered my daughter's world; we insist on a thorough investigation of the Luzerne County courts for their potential mishandling and cover-up of such cases, and we call upon the public to support us in this fight for justice and reform.
