As always, I remain committed to prosecuting animal cruelty cases as I have in the past and currently have two such cases on my dockets that were recently indicted by a grand jury.

We have an animal services department in our county that does an excellent job investigating these cases, but sometimes it is difficult to determine who committed the offense since pets don’t talk the same language we do.

However, when a suspect is developed and there is sufficient evidence to move forward with a prosecution, I do.

I know that people who abuse animals are capable of violence to all humans, including domestic violence and child abuse. It’s important that the public know that animal cruelty cases are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.
