The Issue

Every day, survivors of domestic violence in Fresno County face broken systems that discredit their voices, deny them justice, and leave them vulnerable to further harm. It’s time for real change. We demand the following:

  • Comprehensive training for law enforcement to recognize and respond effectively to domestic violence.
  • Harsher penalties for repeat offenders to prevent the cycle of abuse.
  • Stronger protections for survivors and their children, including restricting access to children for convicted abusers within the civil court system.

Funding and resources are no longer valid excuses in the 21st century. Survivors deserve systems that work for them, not against them. Join us in urging local and state leaders to make domestic violence prevention, justice, and survivor protection a top priority, year-round, not just during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

**As a survivor of domestic violence, I know firsthand the challenges of navigating systems that often discredit and further victimize those they are meant to protect. The process is overwhelming, isolating, and often stacked against survivors seeking justice and safety.

For safety reasons, I’ve chosen to remain anonymous, but my mission is clear. I want to empower survivors, advocate for systemic reform in Fresno County, and push for changes that ensure no one has to face these battles alone.
