TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Our Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers in Kerala are the lifeblood of our rural healthcare system. Without them, many individuals in our community would struggle to access the vital healthcare services they need. Despite this, these incredibly hard-working individuals are gravely underpaid, which fails to reflect the essential services they tirelessly provide.

ASHA workers have often been referred to as the backbone of India's health system, delivering primary healthcare across rural India (source: WHO report, 2020). However, their contribution and sacrifice are not matched by their pay. It is high time we address this and demand for the wage that truly represents their value in our society.

Therefore, we implore the relevant authorities to reassess and adjust the wages of ASHA workers in Kerala to better reflect the monumental task they undertake every day. They should be rewarded appropriately for their tireless effort in delivering health-related duties. They are not merely workers; they are caregivers and lifesavers of our community.
