I am a tenant living in 43-09 Sunnyside, Queens, NY. Along with many of my neighbors, I have been dealing unsafe and unhealthy living conditions for months. Our apartments have been ignored by our landlord (Aljo Realty LLC) and management company (Bronstein Properties LLC) despite numerous requests for repairs and cleaning for months. We are dealing with issues ranging from leaks to mold growth to wall damages that have gone unresolved.

The negligence of our landlord has led to an unbearable situation where we are forced to live under conditions that threaten our health and safety. This is not just about me; it's about all the tenants who share this experience. We've received letters and eviction notices due to withholding rent in protest against these unacceptable conditions.

It's important to note that New York State law requires landlords to maintain their properties in a habitable condition (Warranty of Habitability). Bronstein Properties (Our buildings management company) was sued in 2017 for Illegal Rent Hikes, and they continue shady and lousy business practices in our current apartment building by ignoring our requests, yet demanding Rent and increasing our rent every year, or receive threat of eviction!

We are calling on all tenants in our building, and any other Bronstein Properties tenants to speak out and demand better treatment and frankly the bare minimum in maintaining our building that we pay so much for every month. We demand immediate action be taken against the responsible parties who continue ignoring their duties while threatening us with eviction. If management continues to ignore our requests yet still demand our rent be paid, then they can and will be held liable for their actions, or lack of in this case!
