I am a resident of Cambridgeshire, and so is my brother. Both of us have experienced the damaging effects of the appalling state of our roads. Our tyres have blown out and our wheels have buckled due to the numerous unavoidable potholes, particularly on the A1307. Every morning, we witness broken down vehicles that fell victim to these same hazardous conditions.

This is not an isolated issue; it's a widespread problem affecting many residents who commute daily on these roads. We dutifully pay our road tax expecting safe and well-maintained roads in return. However, this expectation seems far from reality.

According to data from RAC Foundation (2018), over 512,000 potholes were reported in England alone - a significant number that has likely increased since then. This not only poses risks for vehicle damage but also threatens public safety.

We urge Cambridgeshire County Council to take immediate action by investing in road repairs and maintenance to ensure safer commutes for all residents. It's time we get what we pay for with our road taxes - safe and drivable roads free from dangerous potholes.
