Demand Immediate Lock Replacement for Mailboxes in Central Park Community

The Issue

Our Central Park community in Denver has been suffering from regular mailbox burglaries since October of 2024 when our local postal workers were robbed of the master mailbox keys at gunpoint. This has led to daily theft of private information, money, medications, and important government documents throughout our Community. Community members have submitted countless formal complaints to local authorities, community associations, and the postal service which has resulted in no action. This act of violation not only disrupts our everyday life but raises serious concerns over privacy, personal security, and identity safety. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, identity theft affected 26 million individuals in 2016 alone, with 17% of victims experiencing difficulties in banking or credit scenarios, which is why instances like these must be taken seriously (Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2016). We, the residents of Central Park, demand for immediate action. We urge the responsible authorities to promptly replace the locks of all mailboxes involved in the burglary, ensuring the right to privacy and safety for our community. Please lend your voice to our cause to prevent future theft and shield our neighborhoods from this ongoing threat. Sign this petition today!
