We, the undersigned, call for immediate and unrestricted humanitarian access to El-Fasher and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps surrounding it in North Darfur, Sudan. The ongoing conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) is causing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and placing countless civilian lives at grave risk.

The Situation
Humanitarian aid has been obstructed since the RSF imposed a siege on the city on May 10, 2024. This blockade has resulted in a famine declared in June 2024, alongside a wide range of atrocities committed against civilians. The ongoing siege by the RSF severely hinders the delivery of life-saving supplies, including food, medicine, and clean water. As a result, the lives of thousands of innocent civilians, especially children, are now at grave risk of death.

The IDP camps around El-Fasher, including Abo-Shook, Zamzam, and El-Salam, are home to thousands of vulnerable civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, who have been entirely cut off from assistance. These communities are facing the grim realities of acute famine, disease, and the looming threat of death.

The RSF's indiscriminate shelling and random gunfire into residential areas and civilian shelters have turned daily life into a relentless threat, claiming the lives of innocent people and inflicting injuries, thereby plunging communities further into trauma and despair. Moreover, the RSF has targeted all markets, hospitals, mosques, and other public services in the city, resulting in a complete lockdown of daily activities. The city has become a scene of unprecedented human suffering.

We Demand:
- The RSF and SAF immediately cease all hostilities that obstruct humanitarian access to El-Fasher and surrounding IDP camps.
Immediate and unconditional humanitarian access to El-Fasher and its surrounding IDP camps by neutral, internationally recognized aid agencies.

That both the RSF and SAF adhere to international humanitarian law and cease actions that target or endanger civilians.

That international bodies investigate and hold accountable any forces responsible for obstructing aid or deliberately attacking civilian populations.

That the international community applies diplomatic and political pressure to facilitate a humanitarian corridor and ensure sustained aid delivery.
Pressure on the Rapid Support Forces to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2736, adopted on June 13, 2024, which calls for the cessation of their blockade on the city of El Fasher. The resolution also calls for de-escalation in the city and its surroundings.

Why This Matters
Every day that passes without aid is a day closer to mass starvation and further loss of innocent lives. This is not only a Sudanese issue; it is a matter of human rights and global conscience. The world cannot remain silent as North Darfur descends into avoidable tragedy.

We urge your swift and decisive action. Stand with the people of El-Fasher. Let humanity prevail over politics and war.

Conclusion:

We cannot stand by as innocent lives hang in the balance. The suffering of civilians in El-Fasher and IDP camps cannot continue unchecked. Sign this petition to show your support for humanitarian access and to demand action to protect the most vulnerable in this conflict.
