I write this petition with a heavy heart, knowing people who are missing and feared kidnapped. This is a call for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to fulfill its mandate and protect innocent civilians. The lives of Israeli hostages, kidnapped by Hamas in contravention of international humanitarian law (IHL) and the Geneva Conventions, hang in the balance.

The ICRC's duty is clear - it must obtain access to these hostages whose lives are in immediate danger. The Geneva Conventions, which guide international law for humanitarian concerns during war, clearly stipulate that all parties involved must ensure respect for protected persons (Article 1). Yet this principle is being violated as we speak.

Innocent civilians are being used as pawns in a larger political game. Their fundamental human rights are being trampled upon with impunity. It's high time that we raise our voices against such blatant disregard for human life and dignity.

We implore the ICRC to take immediate action and secure access to these hostages. We demand transparency about their condition and treatment from those holding them captive.
