While sex workers have a right to offer their services in an appropriate and legal context, their work should not be conflated with Licensed Massage Therapists or professional bodywork. On apps like Grindr, some users falsely claim the designation of LMT to solicit clients for sexual services, often explicitly offering “happy endings” for a fee. This is illegal, especially in the state of Texas, and deeply unethical. Whether these individuals are licensed or not, associating sexual services with the title of LMT undermines the integrity of our profession.

If individuals who are not licensed are using the LMT designation to advertise sexual work, they are misrepresenting both the profession and the clients they serve.
