The Issue

For the last five years, we have witnessed a concerning pattern of abuse and deceit. Elisa Diaz Bermudez, or more commonly known as Lisa Diaz, has been manipulating our community's generosity for personal gain through her Facebook group. She purportedly collects thousands of dollars in donations meant for struggling single mothers, claiming they need funds for utilities, groceries and gasoline, only for those donations to disappear into her personal PayPal and Cash App accounts without explanation or accountability.

Adding to the suspicion, payments have been requested directly to personal accounts for utility bills stated as "closed accounts". In several instances, donations were collected for Tucson water bills, curiously claimed to be for electric utilities, leaving us confused and alarmed.

When any member of our community questions the legitimacy of these pleas, asks for genuine receipts, provides alternative resources, or challenges the status quo, they are immediately blocked from the group. Subsequently, their reputation is attacked with defamatory statements, heightening our doubt and fueling our need for truth.

This apparent scheme has persisted for far too long, and we believe a thorough investigation into Lisa Diaz and her financial activities within the community is not only warranted but imperative. It's time to ensure that our contributions genuinely benefit the individuals for whom they are intended, and not diverted to line someone's pocket.

Please join us; sign this petition to demand that local authorities conduct a comprehensive investigation into Lisa Diaz's alleged fundraising malpractices. Help us put an end to her exploiting the goodwill of our community and restore faith in our collective generosity. Let this be a significant step towards transparency and justice.
