As a committed advocate for video game preservation, I cannot sit idly by and watch as games like 'Days Gone' are remastered and only made available through digital downloads. The importance of having actual physical copies of games can't be understated - these hard copy versions provide a tangible link to the gaming world and contribute substantially to the preservation of game history. Furthermore, game disc sales still accounted for 45% of total video game content sales in 2019, confirming that there's a significant consumer base for physical game copies (ESA Annual Report, 2019). Having a physical version brings a much-needed sense of ownership and tangibility that digital downloads simply cannot replicate. Furthermore, if servers shut down, digital copies of games might as well be gone forever, but physical copies will live on. It's for these reasons and many more that I bring to the fore a plea for the physical release of the remastered 'Days Gone'. Let's stand in the name of game preservation and advocate consumer choice in game format!
