Demand Family Court Reform: Recognize and Prevent Parental Alienation

The Issue

My name is Rudy Davisson, and I’m a father. A present, capable, loving father — who has been forcibly shut out of his child’s life. Not by choice. Not by danger. But by a system that refuses to acknowledge a devastating form of emotional abuse:

Parental alienation.

Every day, in family courts across the country, fit and loving parents are erased from their children's lives. The other parent manipulates, blocks, and turns the child against them — and the system allows it to happen. Judges often brush off this behavior as “drama” or “co-parenting conflict.” But it’s not drama. It’s psychological warfare. And our children are the casualties.

In my own case, I haven’t seen my son since February. We used to talk every day, play, laugh, and say “I love you” without hesitation. Now? He says he doesn’t want anything to do with me. He parrots things he’s heard. Things I know didn’t come from him. Things meant to hurt.

This petition isn’t just about me — it’s about every parent suffering in silence, and every child being weaponized in courtrooms that were supposed to protect them.

📊 The Reality:
Over 22 million parents in the U.S. live apart from their children.
Studies show up to 13% of children experience some form of parental alienation.
Alienated children are at higher risk of depression, identity issues, low self-esteem, and trust problems later in life.
And yet, most family court judges receive zero formal training on how to recognize or respond to parental alienation.

We Demand:
✅ Mandatory training for all family court judges and custody evaluators on identifying and responding to parental alienation
✅ Default 50/50 custody laws, unless abuse or neglect is proven
✅ Clear legal consequences for proven, sustained alienation tactics
✅ Funding for reunification therapy programs and support for targeted parents and children

This is about protecting children. Period.
Every child deserves the love and presence of both fit, loving parents. This isn’t a “dad” or “mom” issue — this is a human rights issue.

I’m building a movement. I’ve created support groups on Facebook, Reddit, and Discord where parents like us can gather, share our stories, and push for change together.

If you’ve been through this — or know someone who has — I invite you to stand with us.

The louder we get, the harder we are to ignore.

For our kids. For our families. For the future.
