I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to share some significant updates regarding Kurt Dennis, the former principal of McAuliffe International School, whose firing by Denver Public Schools (DPS) last year has sparked widespread concern in our community.

As many of you know, over 6,000 parents and community members joined together in the summer of 2023 to demand Kurt Dennis's reinstatement after his termination by DPS. Despite our collective efforts, DPS proceeded with his firing, citing his courageous decision to report a safety issue to Nine News. This act of transparency led to what many of us view as a retaliatory "witch hunt" by DPS administrators and board members.

In a major development, Kurt Dennis recently gave an interview on iHeart Radio where he discussed the circumstances of his firing, the retaliatory actions taken against him, and the federal lawsuit he has filed against the DPS board members and Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero. This lawsuit challenges the culture of retaliation within DPS and advocates for accountability and justice.

Additionally, I’m thrilled to share that the court has allowed Kurt Dennis’s lawsuit to proceed. This is a critical step forward in his fight for justice and in sending a message that retaliation against those who prioritize safety and transparency will not be tolerated.
