Petition updateDemand DPS to reinstate Mr. Kurt Dennis as Principal of McAuliffe International SchoolUrgent Update: Critical Information for Tomorrow's Protest

Dear McAuliffe Community,

Following my previous email, we received urgent information requiring your immediate attention and support. The outgoing school board plans to vote on Thursday to strip McAuliffe of its innovation status, jeopardizing crucial components such as optional morning enrichments that are essential for many working parents.

Additionally, there are unsettling rumors that the interim principal, Micah Klaver, and several other staff members, who were part of the investigation over the summer into the de-escalation room at McAuliffe, may face termination. It's important to note that a third-party investigation, which was requested, has yet to be conducted. Losing our school leadership mid-year without an unbiased investigation is distressing for our community and, most importantly, our children.

To make matters more concerning, a significant number of McAuliffe teachers are considering leaving for new jobs if these rumored changes are made at the board meeting on Thursday. This potential mass departure would have a devastating impact on the quality of education at McAuliffe.

We implore you to join us in our protest on Tuesday, November 14, at 8 AM outside McAuliffe International School, to show a united front against these damaging decisions. Your presence is vital in sending a strong message to the school board and superintendent that our community demands transparency, fairness, and the preservation of the quality education that our children deserve.

Please come prepared with signs bearing messages such as:

"Save Our School, Save Our Future!"
"Students Deserve Better – Stand with Our Teachers!"
"Hands Off Our School, Hands On Our Education!"
"Don't Quietly Dismantle Excellence – Save McAuliffe International!"
"Our Teachers, Our Heroes – Protect Our School!"

These signs will be powerful tools for conveying our collective message. Let us stand strong and united in the face of these challenges, advocating for the well-being of our students, teachers, and our community.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Eve Chen
