Dear MIS Family,
I am writing to express our gratitude for your participation in the efforts to reinstate Kurt Dennis as the Principal of McAuliffe International School. By signing the petition, you have joined this influential collective. Since its launch on July 6 at 8 PM, we have already gathered over 4,000 signatures.
As we move forward, it is crucial for us to maintain pressure as a united group, as the DPS Board of Education will convene in August to vote on the termination decision. In light of this, we intend to personally deliver the petition to the DPS building and generate increased media attention. Therefore, I kindly request one hour of your time to attend a rally at DPS building this week and support our demands to the DPS Board of Education, which are as follows:
- Immediate reinstatement of Mr. Kurt Dennis as the Principal of McAuliffe International School.
- Investigation and termination of Superintendent Marrero due to his inadequate leadership and decision-making, resulting in a second federal lawsuit against DPS under his administration and severe disruption to MIS school community.
We encourage parents, students, and any courageous educators (understanding that some may have concerns about potential retaliation, given DPS's history) to take 60-90 seconds each to express your thoughts on Mr. Kurt Dennis and why we insist on his reinstatement.
To maximize our media exposure, it is essential to conduct our actions at specific times of the day, ensuring coverage by all cable outlets. The suggested timings are as follows:
- 9 AM for inclusion in the midday broadcast,
- 12 PM for coverage in the 5 PM broadcast, and
- 4 PM for live coverage in the 5 PM broadcast, with online media disseminating our message the following day.
We kindly request that you indicate the time and date via this survey you can commit to attending. As the MIS family, this is our collective endeavor. Let us unite and fight to reinstate Kurt and restore stability within our school community.
