Demand Councilman Clayton Perry Resign!

The Issue

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, 06 November 2022, Councilman Clayton Perry (District 10, San Antonio) was involved in a hit-and-run.

According to reports, Mr. Perry's vehicle took an exceptionally wide right turn at a red light and was involved in a head-on collision which caused "major damage" to another vehicle. He is alleged to have fled the scene and been followed home by an eyewitness who later successfully identified him to authorities as the driver of the fleeing Jeep.

The Councilman was observed by SAPD (San Antonio Police) lying injured in his backyard and smelling heavily of alcohol. At that time, he also refused to cooperate with the investigating officer.

Mr. Perry issued a statement that he does not recall the incident.

While it is too late to correct the actions of SAPD and pursue what likely should have been a DWI, Mr. Perry should resign from City Council immediately.

Furthermore, in a direct violation of a 2019 ruling with the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Mr. Perry's office has blocked me from social media, hindering my ability to engage freely with my elected representative, effectively censoring his constituent.

Mr. Perry, District 10 deserves better leadership. You must resign immediately.
