Demand completion of Sant Nagar, Burari, Delhi roads and sewage systems
The Issue
Living in Sant Nagar, Burari, Delhi, has become nothing short of a daily nightmare. As someone deeply rooted in this area, I see firsthand how the unfinished construction projects of roads and sewage systems continue to wreak havoc on our lives. This issue is not only affecting my daily commute to Gurgaon—a mere 2 km stretch that tortuously extends my traveling time by more than half an hour—but also tainting personal aspects of my life. People avoid visiting due to the dismal conditions, branding our once lively neighborhood as dirty and unapproachable.
The incomplete road and sewage projects disrupt not only residents but everyone frequenting the area. DTC buses, vital for connectivity, have reduced their operations here due to the poor road conditions, leaving many of us stranded. E-rickshaws and public vehicles risk accidents, with overturned vehicles becoming a familiar sight, endangering passengers each day.
The air is thick with concrete dust, turning our homes into piles of grime. Pollution levels have escalated, posing health risks to the people, including children and the elderly gravitating through these hazardous streets. Accidents on these treacherous roads are commonplace, portraying an urgent need for immediate action.
It’s been years since these construction projects began, leaving residents to question if they will ever see completion. This stagnation in construction is unfairly impacting our quality of life, jeopardizing our safety, and diminishing the essence of community in Sant Nagar and Burari.
We urge the authorities to expedite the construction process without further delays. Completing the roads and sewage systems will restore normalcy and safety, improve commuting services, and attract people back to this once vibrant area.
Join us in this urgent plea to the local government and contractors responsible for the project in Burari, Delhi. Our demand is simple yet critical: finish what was started. Sign this petition to signal that we, the people of Burari, demand our community's restoration and the end of endless construction woes.
