Demand Closure of Toyota Dealership in Lufkin over Unresolved Life-Threatening Incidents

The Issue

I, a concerned consumer and parent, bought a car from the Toyota dealership in Lufkin. In a series of unfortunate events that could have easily ended in tragedy, the car almost caused me and my children our lives, not once, but twice. Each time, I took this deathtrap they sold me to their repair shop, their response was dismissive, arrogantly waving off my concerns and saying nothing was wrong.

This is not an isolated incident. On top of my personal grievance, there have been other reports of similar cases of dangerous defects and overlooked maintenance issues, not just in Lufkin, but in other Toyota dealerships as well. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there have been 6,643 complaints on Toyota vehicles in 2020. If unchecked, these numbers could significantly increase due to the ignorance of certain Toyota branches failing to take their customer's concerns seriously.

I even went as far as to secure video proof of the potential disaster, yet they maintained their stance and, to add insult to injury, they are still expecting me to continue payments for the faulty vehicle. A car that has been idle in the shop for over six months due to their negligence.

It is imperative that we call for the immediate closure of the Toyota dealership in Lufkin until such time they can guarantee the safety of their consumers is their top priority. No one should have to endure the danger and anxiety of driving a car that could potentially bring about their untimely demise when their concerns are swept under the rug by a company that owes its very existence to those very people. Stand up for safer roads and better business practices today by signing this petition.
