I live just 3 kilometres from the Marappalam (Palakkad Road) Under Bridge (RUB) project site in Coimbatore.

Due to the prolonged road closure since 17 May 2025, severe traffic congestion has become a daily issue, especially at night with heavy vehicles and tourist buses. The situation worsens during the Sabarimala season, weekends, and major festivals such as Deepawali, Ramzan, Pooja, Christmas, New Year, and Pongal.

This has significantly affected daily commuters, emergency services, local residents, and people travelling between Kerala and Coimbatore for hospital treatment, business, and leisure.

Official responses indicate that Administrative Sanction for the project has not yet been issued, yet railway-related works are reported to have commenced and the public road remains closed, without any clearly communicated timeline for completion.

The lack of clear information regarding approvals, project status, and road closure duration has caused continued hardship to the public. As concerned citizens, we respectfully request the authorities to provide transparent clarification on the status of Administrative Sanction, a realistic project timeline, and steps being taken to reduce public inconvenience.

நான் கோயம்புத்தூரில் உள்ள Marappalam (Palakkad Road) Road Under Bridge (RUB) திட்டப் பகுதிக்கு வெறும் 3 கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவில் வசித்து வருகிறேன்.

கடந்த 2025 மே 17 முதல் இந்த சாலை நீண்ட காலமாக மூடப்பட்டிருப்பதால், தினசரி போக்குவரத்தில் கடுமையான நெரிசல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
குறிப்பாக இரவு நேரங்களில் பெரிய வாகனங்கள் மற்றும் சுற்றுலா பேருந்துகள் அதிகமாகச் செல்வதால் இந்த பிரச்சனை மேலும் தீவிரமாகிறது.
 
சபரிமலை சீசன், வார இறுதிகள் மற்றும் தீபாவளி, ரம்சான், பூஜை, கிறிஸ்துமஸ், புத்தாண்டு, பொங்கல் போன்ற முக்கிய திருநாள்களில் இந்த நிலை இன்னும் மோசமாகிறது.
இதனால் தினசரி பயணிகள், அவசர மருத்துவ சேவைகள், உள்ளூர் குடியிருப்பாளர்கள் மற்றும் மருத்துவம், வணிகம், ஓய்வு போன்ற தேவைகளுக்காக கேரளா–கோயம்புத்தூர் இடையே பயணம் செய்யும் மக்கள் பெரிதும் பாதிக்கப்படுகின்றனர்.

அதிகாரப்பூர்வ பதில்களின் படி, இந்த திட்டத்திற்கு இன்னும் Administrative Sanction வழங்கப்படவில்லை. அதே நேரத்தில், ரயில்வே சார்ந்த பணிகள் தொடங்கியுள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும், இந்த பொதுச் சாலை எப்போது திறக்கப்படும் அல்லது பணிகள் எப்போது முடியும் என்பதற்கான தெளிவான காலக்கெடு இதுவரை பொதுமக்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லை.

அனுமதிகள், திட்டத்தின் தற்போதைய நிலை மற்றும் சாலை மூடல் காலம் குறித்து தெளிவான தகவல் இல்லாததால், பொதுமக்கள் தொடர்ந்து சிரமங்களை எதிர்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். எனவே, பொது நலனை கருத்தில் கொண்டு, Administrative Sanction நிலை, திட்டம் முடியும் நியாயமான காலக்கெடு மற்றும் பொதுமக்களின் சிரமங்களை குறைக்க எடுக்கப்படும் நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்து அதிகாரிகள் தெளிவான விளக்கங்களை வழங்க வேண்டும் என கோருகிறோம்.
