The City of South Beloit administration is currently outsourcing its fire department services, which is detrimental to public safety and emergency response times. We demand that the City of South Beloit administration takes immediate steps to hire and staff its own fire department to protect our community better.

We also urge the Town of Beloit administration to end this contract as this has left the Town of Beloit FD short staffed for their own stations causing stress on other departments. This has led to the citizens' growing dissatisfaction and lack of trust in the administration.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, communities served by a local, dedicated fire department have quicker response times and are more likely to have favorable outcomes during emergencies. Similarly, having competent leaders in administrative roles is crucial to efficient governance and building public trust.
