Neighbors!

I hope this message finds you well and filled with the same energy and determination that has brought us together over the past few weeks.

First and foremost, I want to extend my gratitude to each and every one of you who have added your voices to our cause. Together, we've shown incredible unity and strength, rallying around the petition to convert the city-operated Embassy Suites in Denver into affordable housing units. Seeing our impact, with just shy of 1900 signatures gathered so far, is truly inspiring. Let's celebrate this achievement together—great job, everyone!

While our efforts have been met with some challenges, we remain undeterred in our mission. Despite Councilwoman Diana Romero Campbell's lack of response to our petition, we still have time to make a difference. I urge her to join us in this crucial endeavor by honoring our request and securing the written commitment we all seek before the deadline of 12:00 PM MST on Monday, March 18, 2024.

In the event that Councilwoman Romero Campbell does not meet our deadline, rest assured that our community will continue to stand strong. We are prepared to take further action and launch a recall campaign to ensure that our voices are heard - loud and clear. Details of the campaign and how you can get involved can be found at www.recalldiana.org

It's important to note that the city council will vote on the Embassy Suites purchase, giving us an opportunity to influence the outcome. The vote is scheduled for Monday, March 18, at 3:30 PM, which is why our deadline for securing the written commitment is set earlier in the day at 12:00 PM. Even if Councilwoman Romero does not comply with our request, there are still ways for us to make a difference.

Here's how you can continue to show your support:

  • Attend the city council meeting, either in person or virtually. CLICK HERE for details.
  • Sign up to speak at the meeting, online or by calling 720-337-2000. Registration for speaking closes at 3:00 PM on Monday, so don't delay. CLICK HERE for details.
  • If you cannot make the meeting, email or call Councilwoman Diana Romero Campbell and encourage her to comply with our petition. You can email her at diana.romerocampbell@denvergov.org and CC all council members at dencc@denvergov.org. Please do this before the council member meeting and vote. For Councilwoman's contact info CLICK HERE.

Let's keep pushing forward, united in our determination to create positive change for our community. Together, we can make a difference!

Warm regards,

Josh Mitchey
