Brittany Wallace Shank vanished without a trace almost six years ago and her case remains unsolved. Brittany was last seen on November 30, 2018 when she had emerged from a car crash in the area of Fawn River Road near Workman Road, Fawn River Township, around 9 p.m. that day. Brittany reportedly walked to nearby homes for help, noticeably bleeding from her arms and feet and without a coat or shoes. When a homeowner attempted to find better cell phone reception in order to call police, Shank vanished. Her cellphone pinged for the last time near the intersection of Watt Road and Fawn River Road in Sturgis. Her cold case has been handled by the Saint Joseph County Sheriff's Office with no substantial progress being made. Brittany and her family deserve justice and closure. This petition calls for a transfer of her case to the Michigan State Police, in the hopes of adding new resources and strategies to expedite the investigation. It is estimated that the average solve rate of cases at the Michigan State Police is significantly higher than other smaller departments (Source: FBI Uniform Crime Reports). By signing this petition, you will support in urging the Saint Joseph County Sheriff's Office to pass Brittany Wallace Shank's case to an institution with more resources and higher chances of resolving it. Let's give Brittany and her family the closure they deserve. Sign the petition today and help bring Brittany home.
