Demand Better Conditions and Policies for Caddo Parish Animal Shelter

Demand Better Conditions and Policies for Caddo Parish Animal Shelter
The Issue
As someone who deeply reveres the lives of these innocent creatures, it distresses me to know that healthy animals in the Caddo Parish Animal Shelter are given a mere 60-day chance of survival. This sentence could potentially be their death warrant. They may get a few more days, if they're lucky. But luck has no place in matters of life and death. Just as the pictures that I have posted this poor mama and her babies they were all euthanized they claim they had parvo as you can look at the puppies in the mama they don't look sick they look healthy as an ox and they were all put to sleep that makes me mad these people need to be shut down they give them names they call them sweetie and then they euthanize them why give them names if you're just going to put them to sleep these babies need our help
The Caddo Parish Animal Shelter, known for its harsh policies, is currently practicing euthanasia on healthy animals that have stayed in the shelter for 60 days. This is in contrast to the average recommendation by various animal societies of a 90-day holding period before considering euthanasia. Healthy and adoptable pets being euthanized purely due to a lack of space is disheartening, we should be focusing on finding these fur babies new homes instead. To choose euthanasia so swiftly seems heartless and cruel.
This situation not only denies these fur babies a chance to live a happy life, but it also diminishes the chance for potential families who could offer them a loving home. As fellow beings, we have the responsibility to ensure that life is taken seriously. We need to create a system where each animal is given a fair chance for survival.
We petition the Caddo Parish Animal Shelter to amend their policies, to extend their holding period and to explore other feasible options such as foster care, adoption programs and partnerships with rescue organizations before considering such extreme measures. Let's make sure that these precious lives are not needlessly wasted. This cause is deeply personal to me and I hope it will resonate with you as well. Please sign this petition and demand better for the animals at the Caddo Parish Animal Shelter.
