Demand Auspost respect consumer rights and laws as described by the ACCC
The issue
Auspost may be denying consumer rights and breaking consumer law affecting millions of Australians daily.
ACCC phone 1300 302 502 EMAIL info.centre@accc.gov.au ACCC. Your rights: accurate information Consumer Guarantees
The Australian Consumer Law provides consumers with the right to truthful and accurate representations when buying a product or service. This means that businesses must not mislead you with statements that are incorrect or likely to give you the wrong impression. This rule applies to information that a business provides you in any medium, including when talking to a sales
representative, on packaging, in online shopping forums or social media. If a business misleads you, and you experience loss, you might be entitled to a remedy.
This raises the question if Auspost is dropping cards without attempting delivery and not supplying accurate tracking information is Auspost opperating within the law.
From Aurtralia post terms and conditions.
7B.1 In providing postal and related services, Australia Post must provide the following consumer guarantees: 7B.1.1 guarantees to due care and skill; 7B.1.2 guarantee as to fitness for purpose; 7B.1.3 in some circumstances, a guarentee as to time for supply- either the specified timeframe or reasonable timeframe. 7B.2 Where Australia Post fails to provide these services to a person in accordance with these consumer guarantees, and the person has complied with these and any other relevent terms and conditions, then a person may have a right to seek a remedy in accordance the Australian consumer law. 7B.3 subject clause 63 of these terms and conditions (which seeks to exclude Australia Post's liability in circumstances where permitted under section 34 of the act). Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or restricts the application of laws including Australian consumer law.
Australia Post is a wholly goverment owned corporation the 2 shareholders are,The minister for finance The Hon Katy Gallagher and the minister for communications, urban infrastructure cities and arts Paul Fletcher MP
I am asking Australian voters sign this petition to get The Hon Katy Gallagher and Paul Fletcher to intervene and assure that Australian consumers are not being deprived of legal rights and laws aren't being broken by those contracted to perform tasks in the name of Auspost
