Demand Apple and Google to Exclude Platform X from Their App Stores

Demand Apple and Google to Exclude Platform X from Their App Stores
The Issue
As someone who fervently believes in rooting out hate, I cannot standby idle as social media platform X continues to provide a home for disturbingly harmful content. This is not a broad-spectrum internet censorship call, it is a direct appeal to expunge hate and violence from our daily digital experiences. Racism, misogyny and threats of physical harm have been consistently observable on X, an unacceptable reality that users like myself have to grapple with.
Major tech conglomerates, Apple and Google, with their colossal global reach, have the social responsibility to mitigate these issues. Their app stores are major gateways to digital content, and by continuing to host X, they are indirectly endorsing these harmful behaviors.
A 2020 report by Tech Transparency Project revealed how hate speech and misinformation exploded across major social media platforms, resulting in real-world violence, highlighting the very real implications of this problem (source: Tech Transparency Project , 2020).
By drawing a line on the digital sand, we can take a significant step forward, promoting healthy discussions, fostering respect for diverse views, and ensuring that technology is part of the solution, not the problem. Let's hold Apple and Google accountable for the content they provide access to. Sign this petition to demand Apple and Google to remove X from their app stores. Together, let's refuse to let hate win.
