Today, 20 dogs were rescued in Georgetown County, South Carolina, during search warrants connected to an ongoing dogfighting investigation. Authorities reported that the dogs were found in varying states of malnourishment and neglect. The investigation remains ongoing.
I am grateful to the law enforcement officers and rescue professionals who helped give these dogs a chance at a better life. ❤️
But we must remember that rescue is only the beginning.
These animals deserve safety, medical care, and the opportunity to live without fear. And when evidence proves animal cruelty, those responsible must be held accountable under the law.
This is exactly why I continue to fight for stronger animal protection laws in South Carolina.
We need meaningful penalties for animal abuse. We need consistent enforcement. We need greater protection for vulnerable animals before their suffering reaches this point.
This is not just about 20 dogs. It is about every dog abandoned, neglected, abused, or left without a voice.
WE MUST BE THEIR VOICE.
Please help me keep this fight moving forward.
