Yet, this decision was heavily based on the opinions of a young, inexperienced caseworker—someone with no firsthand parenting experience—who speculated that my children could be at risk of "future harm." This unfathomable separation happened not only to my family but resonates with countless others who have faced similar ordeals.

The actions taken by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and the Ellis County courts often seem to bypass due process. Reviewing the timeline of events reveals a concerning trend: the law was seemingly disregarded to fast-track the removal of my children from their home. Instead of protecting us, the system appears to fail families time and again.

Ellis County residents deserve family court proceedings that are fair, transparent, and truly focused on the welfare of the children involved. Such decisions should never be made lightly, nor without substantial evidence of existing harm—not merely speculative concerns about the future.

We demand an exhaustive investigation into the practices and decisions of the Ellis County family courts, CPS, the Empower program, and the District Attorney's office.
