We've just passed 1500 signatures to demand justice for Nex. Let's get to 3000.

Hello friends,

We've just passed 1500 signers on the petition demanding an independent investigation into the death of Nex Benedict.

We must continue to make our voices heard, because patterns that we've seen before are starting to emerge- video footage that shows the police claiming Nex's bullying wasn't reported (it was), people saying that because Nex threw water at their bullies that it was their fault for what happened to them (outrageous)....

Victim blaming and attempts to deflect accountability are a familiar refrain.

This is why it's critical we continue to insist that the investigation of Nex's death not be left in the hands of the Owasso PD and the local school authorities, who don't seem to be conducting this investigation in good faith.

In the coming days, we'll be taking the message directly to the DOJ and the FBI, backed by the number of people signing the petition.

While both these agencies have a long-standing policy of not commenting on whether they're investigating certain crimes, we must still keep the pressure on to ensure that they do begin that investigation, and sooner than later.
