UPDATE: Expanding Our Watch to West Richland (Action Needed!)

Majesta McCannRichland, WA, United States
Jun 10, 2026

Hello everyone,

Thanks to the incredible research and vigilance of our community, we are officially expanding our watch!

While we continue to pressure the Richland City Council regarding the Atlas Agro deal on Horn Rapids Road, we are now also tracking West Richland's movements on the Lewis & Clark Ranch land. A major global developer, Trammell Crow Company, is actively pushing to place a massive data center campus on that agricultural tract.

Because our cities share the exact same vital resources—the same water tables, the same power grid, and the same risk of shifting Hanford plumes—we must hold BOTH city councils accountable.

Please take 2 minutes today to copy the text below and email both city councils!

Step 1:  Copy these email blocks

Subject: Tri-Cities Resident: Opposition to Horn Rapids & Lewis & Clark data center expansion

Dear Council Members,

I am writing to you today as a resident and voter in the Tri-Cities to voice my strong opposition to the runaway data center expansion sweeping across our local borders. Specifically, I am asking you to protect our shared region from the massive utility and resource strains caused by projects like the Atlas Agro data center campus on Horn Rapids Road and the emerging Trammell Crow footprint at Lewis & Clark Ranch.

I have joined over 2,000 of my neighbors in signing a local petition against these heavy corporate energy infrastructure expansions. You can view our live numbers and community concerns here: https://c.org/TCBmP4tp

Our public officials are elected to represent the people, not big tech. I urge you to use your voice, your zoning powers, and your utility agreements to put a halt to this corporate data center expansion before our environment, water supply, and public infrastructure are permanently ruined.

Respectfully,

[Your Name][Your Neighborhood/Address]

Also here's 2 quick tips to maximize our impact.

First being, when you use this template to send out the email to our councils. Change the subject line slightly. An example like adding your neighborhood, or simply saying, 'Richland resident opposition to data centers expansion'. Just adding a little change, a little tweak. This keeps the councils inbox from stacking them as a single thread.

Second thing most importantly, include your address at the bottom of your email. Council members throw away anonymous emails, but they legally must log emails from verified constituents.

One more thing make sure when you send the email that the petition Link Works and goes straight to this petition.

We got this and we can do this. I am off sending my emails today individually. I've been working on this for a few hours. I really deeply care about our community and our environment and our nation. Thank you all for signing and sharing. This matters. We matter.
