As concerned educators, parents, and citizens, we are deeply alarmed by the increasing number of stray dog attacks on school-going children in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. These incidents are no longer rare — they are becoming frighteningly common, and the safety of our little ones is now at stake.

At Kids Play and Study, located near Lenin Street, Puducherry, we believe every child deserves a safe journey to and from school — free from the fear of being chased, bitten, or injured by stray dogs. The emotional trauma and physical injuries caused by these attacks are unimaginable, especially for small children who are just beginning to explore the world around them.

This petition aims to:

Create widespread awareness among parents, educational institutions, and the general public about the dangers posed by stray dog populations.

Urge local governments and municipalities to implement safe, humane, and effective measures to control and monitor stray dog populations, especially near schools and public play areas.

Encourage collaboration between health, education, and animal welfare departments to prioritize child safety while respecting animal rights.

It is time we stop turning a blind eye to this growing threat. No parent should have to send their child to school in fear. No school should have to operate under the shadow of danger.
