Demand Accountability to End Unfair CPS Practices and Medical Discrimination

Demand Accountability to End Unfair CPS Practices and Medical Discrimination
The Issue
Petition for Accountability for Medical Malpractice and Police Misconduct
I am a parent and patient seeking accountability for medical malpractice, civil rights violations, and police misconduct that occurred during and immediately after childbirth at Texoma Medical Center in January 2024. While hospitalized in life-threatening condition, I was denied appropriate medical care, subjected to coercive treatment, and forcibly separated from my newborn child. These actions were carried out by hospital staff in coordination with hospital security, Child Protective Services, and Denison Police Department, without a valid court order or lawful written authorization presented to me at the time.
Medical Malpractice and Patient Rights Violations
Texoma Medical Center failed in its duty of care by:
- Discharging me prematurely while I remained medically unstable
- Denying appropriate postpartum and follow-up medical treatment
- Allowing non-medical considerations to override patient safety
- Participating in coercive actions against a patient under duress
Following my discharge, I suffered lasting medical complications, and my newborn daughter also experienced medical harm connected to the circumstances of her removal and lack of continuity of care. Compounding this misconduct, medical records generated by Texoma Medical Center were later altered and used in court proceedings, despite those records now being proven false. These falsified or manipulated records were relied upon to justify actions taken against me, causing permanent harm to my family and undermining the integrity of both medical and legal processes.
Police Misconduct and Abuse of Authority
Denison Police Department officers were present and actively involved in the removal of my newborn and my forced expulsion from the hospital.
During this incident:
- I was compelled to surrender my child to a stranger
- I was forced to change clothing in public view
- I was escorted out of the hospital by police and staff despite medical instability
- My freedom, safety, and bodily autonomy were threatened
These actions were taken without a warrant, court order, or legal documentation justifying police involvement or removal.
To date, Denison Police Department has refused to release body-camera footage from this incident, obstructing transparency and accountability and raising serious concerns about the lawfulness of officer conduct.
Coordinated Institutional Failure
The conduct of hospital staff and law enforcement reflects a coordinated failure of medical ethics, constitutional protections, and professional standards. Police presence was used to enforce medical decisions, and medical authority was used to legitimize unlawful coercion. This misuse of power transformed a medical emergency into a civil rights violation.
Ongoing Harm
The consequences of this misconduct extend far beyond the hospital. I continue to suffer medical complications, emotional trauma, and the permanent disruption of my family. These harms were foreseeable, preventable, and unjustified.
- No patient should fear law enforcement while seeking medical care.
- No hospital should weaponize police authority against a vulnerable patient.
- No parent should be separated from their child through intimidation rather than law.
What This Petition Seeks
This petition calls for:
- An independent investigation into Texoma Medical Center for medical malpractice and falsification of medical records
- An independent investigation into Denison Police Department for unlawful detention, coercion, and abuse of authority
- Immediate release of all body-camera footage and related incident reports
- Accountability for all individuals involved in the January 2024 incident
- Policy reform prohibiting law enforcement involvement in patient care absent lawful authority
- Enforcement of patient rights, bodily autonomy, and due process protections
Call to Action
- Hospitals exist to heal—not to harm.
- Police exist to protect—not to intimidate vulnerable patients.
- What happened to me should never happen to anyone else.
I urge you to sign this petition to demand accountability, transparency, and justice.
- Stand against medical malpractice.
- Stand against police misconduct.
- Stand for patient rights and human dignity.
- Silence protects abuse. Accountability protects lives.
