Urgent for all people who want to hear or see this in feed: "Our personal data is something incredibly sensitive, something we should truly control and protect. Yet, our trust has been violated as we face unwarranted invasions of our privacy by corporations like Google. Google has reportedly allowed the illicit practice of fingerprinting and permitted government agencies to access our private emails, messages, and data. This is not what we gave them our trust and information for. 

Statistics reveal that as of September 2021, Google was serving more than 270 million US Internet users, implicating their privacy policies affect a significant proportion of the US population ("Statista", 2021). Google's course of action is a blatant disregard for our rights, dismissing the importance of our privacy and neglecting their responsibility to us, their users.

Furthermore, a study found that 91% of American adults feel they have lost control over their personal information ("Pew Research Center", 2014). This feeling of helplessness, of having our hands tied while our personal data is abused, needs to change.

It is a bad change, we must act now and take back our data and the things we care about. 

We call for greater transparency from Google, for respect of our privacy, and for them to be held accountable for allowing such deep and widespread violations of privacy to occur. It is time for us to take back control of our data.
