Since January 2025, the Trump administration has repeatedly defied court rulings — including decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court — undermining the very foundation of American democracy: the rule of law.

As citizens of New Mexico and the United States, we demand that our elected leaders act decisively to hold the Executive Branch accountable. When any administration refuses to enforce or obey court orders, it threatens every citizen’s rights and the survival of the Constitution itself.

We call on Representative Gabe Vasquez, Senator Martin Heinrich, and Senator Ben Ray Luján to:

Publicly condemn the administration’s defiance of federal court rulings

Support legal consequences for officials who refuse to comply with judicial orders

Introduce or co-sponsor legislation to reinforce judicial enforcement

Advocate for impeachment or contempt proceedings where appropriate

The rule of law must apply to everyone — including the president. There is no freedom without accountability.
