The Issue

For the past several months, users of the Poetizer app, a platform cherished by poets for its capacity to safeguard creativity, have faced a devastating issue. A technical failure has rendered the app universally inaccessible, resulting in the loss of countless poems. Among those voices left unheard, mine was a collection of 200 poems spanning 4-5 years – years that encompassed the essence of my deepest emotions, documented through words that came from my heart. What could have been a lifetime’s body of artistic work is now lost in the ether, and this loss is not mine alone. It affects all who trusted Poetizer with their creative expressions for others to engage with.

We reached out; we waited. Our messages flooded the developers’ inboxes – all to no avail. The silence in response has been deafening, conveying a disheartening lack of responsibility and care towards a dedicated user base. This lack of communication and accountability is not just a service failure; it is a personal betrayal to each poet who relied on Poetizer to preserve their inspirations and stories.

Poetizer was more than just an app; it was a haven, a community that hosted shared passions and personal histories. The loss of such extensive creative contributions deserves not only acknowledgment but restitution. Beyond the financial investment in enhancing our use of the app, the poetry stored there represented the intellectual and emotional labor of countless individuals. It is time for Poetizer to address this oversight and reimburse the funds of those affected.

We do not ask for what is unreasonable. What we seek is communication, concern, and compensation. Poetizer must implement a more reliable infrastructure to prevent future occurrences of data loss. More importantly, they must uphold their responsibility to their users by refunding the subscriptions, purchases, and any other financial commitments made by users who were unable to access the platform as intended.

Our poems were not data to be disregarded; they were pieces of our soul, shared with the world in trust. It is vital that Poetizer acknowledges the emotional and financial investment we placed in their hands. Sign this petition to demand accountability, transparency, and the financial restitution that we, as sentinels of creative expression, deserve.
