The issue
I am an ex-Jehovah's Witness and a survivor of child sexual abuse. For years, I've battled the shadows, knowing the depths of an epidemic that continues to plague institutions that are meant to protect, nurture, and safe-guard our children. It’s time to shed light on these dark corners and demand accountability where it's long been overdue.
Every child has the right to feel safe, secure, and protected. Yet, for many, institutions tasked with this responsibility have become places of unresolved pain, filled with secrets and cover-ups to protect the perpetrators. We cannot allow this silence to prevail any longer.
Did you know that the Jehovah's Witnesses were the only 1 out of 40 Australian Religion's that refused to cooperate with The Australian Government during The Australian Royal Commission into Child Religious Sexual Abuse in 2017? And they still haven't handed their records over and it's now 2026!
Also, The Jehovah's Witness religion continues to operate under a 2 Witness rule, that is if 2 x witnesses didn't see the child abuse incident occur, then Jehovah's Witness Elders discourage members from going to the police and although this was revealed during the Royal Commission, nothing has been done about it, Jehovah's Witness children's lives matter too!
Did you know it was found during the Australian Royal Commission's into Religious & Child Sexual Abuse & Institutional Child Abuse, that not only did many Church & Institutional Leaders engage in child sexual abuse, they also failed to act on cases of child abuse to protect the children, instead they assisted in covering it up to protect the Religion's/Institution's Status' and in many cases perpetrators of child abuse were reallocated and enabled to be able to do it again.
We demand tougher laws against pedofiles and the organisations they represent; full government transparency when it comes to withholding names and identities of pedofiles living in the community amongst us and; and we are calling for a nation-wide sex offender registry that is available to the public, because currently only Queensland has this and Australia's children deserve better!
**We demand justice for survivors.** This is not just about preventing future cases, though that is paramount, but also about recognising the pain and suffering of those who have endured abuse in silence, it's about speaking up and saying Australian's will not tolerate pedofiles. It’s time for those voices to be heard and for the proper legal channels to take action against those who have wronged them.
**We demand systemic change.** Laws and policies need to be overhauled to immediately address gaps in child protection across all institutional levels within Australia. Whether they be churches, schools, or community organisations, none should be exempt or protected from scrutiny and if not reformation, we are calling for them to be shut down.

The following dates for the upcoming protest will be put forward for Government approval:
Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd November
(Pending government approval)
This gives us time to gather more signatures for the petition to demand tougher laws against convicted pedofiles,
full government transparency when it comes to convicting pedofiles and if not, acceptable explanations provided to the public by the
Australian Government to explain why not? And to call for a NATION WIDE sex offender registry that is accessible to the public,
because currently Queensland is the only state that has one and Australian children deserve better!
