This chart shows US gasoline consumption by year. You can see the drastic reduction during the pandemic, but as of 2022, consumption had not returned to pre-2020 level. The dot shows the 2022 volume. When you consider that Tesla makes a million cars a year and that Ford plans to make 2 million per year by 2025, you can see that gasoline consumption will keep decreasing, requiring less oil.
