Demand a Hearing for Michigan’s Justice for Survivors Bills (SB 257–261)

Demand a Hearing for Michigan’s Justice for Survivors Bills (SB 257–261)
The Issue
Michigan’s Justice for Survivors legislation (SB 257–261) has already passed the State Senate in May of 2025, but it has yet to receive a hearing in the House.
These bills would expand access to justice for survivors of sexual abuse, including extending time limits to file civil claims and allowing previously time-barred cases to be heard.
Right now, the legislation is stalled in the House Government Operations Committee. Without a hearing, it cannot move forward.
Survivors across Michigan deserve the opportunity to be heard.
We are calling on the House to take immediate action:
Schedule a hearing for SB 257–261
Allow the legislation to be debated and considered
Give survivors a fair path to justice
This is not about politics; it is about access to justice and accountability.
Michigan has the opportunity to take meaningful action. It starts with a hearing.
Please sign this petition to urge the Michigan House to move these bills forward.
