I am writing this as a Nurse who returned from a medical mission trip to Gaza 5 months ago (Feb 24’). During this time, I witnessed the blatant violations of international humanitarian laws and acts of genocide. The memories are raw and the scenes I witnessed leave me feeling hopeless for the people. Such acts of violence and destruction should never be the norm anywhere in the world. 

According to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, within the past 9 months, nearly 40,000 people have been killed and 85,000 injured in Gaza. Yet, as the devastation mounts, the international community continues in its inaction. It's time for the world to hear our plea. 

My ask is simple: a global ceasefire. We dream of a world where nations choose dialogue and reconciliation over fighting and mass murdering. A world where armies lay down their arms and allow for peace to seep into the lands they occupy.

The power to make a change lies in unity and collective demand from every corner of the earth. Let us band together to demand a global ceasefire. For those innocent people caught up in a genocide. For the sake of humanity. Let us fight for peace.
