1,000+ Signatures — We've Asked Pearson to Consider A Boundary of No Higher Than 40/75 for an A

Our petition has now passed 1,000 signatures.

To the best of our knowledge, this is now the largest petition ever created calling for the review of an International A Level examination paper. That milestone belongs to every student, parent, teacher, tutor, and supporter who signed and refused to let these concerns go unheard.

Over the past several weeks, one thing has become impossible to ignore. The same concerns have been raised over and over again by students from different schools, different countries, and completely independent of one another. Many candidates who had consistently completed recent IAL P3 past papers under timed conditions told us exactly the same thing: Working at the pace that would normally allow them to complete a standard P3 paper comfortably within the 1 hour 30 minute time limit, it was extremely difficult to access even around 70% of the June 2026 paper.

That is not simply a complaint that the paper was difficult.

It is a concern that the amount of work required, the timing, the mark-to-work balance, and the overall structure of the paper may not have provided candidates with a fair opportunity to demonstrate the mathematics they had spent months preparing.

That distinction matters.

Following Pearson Edexcel's response to our petition, we have now submitted a further update informing them that our campaign has surpassed 1,000 signatures.

We also explained that the feedback we continue to receive has remained remarkably consistent from the very beginning. Based on that consistency, we told Pearson that we believe a substantial adjustment will be necessary if the final outcome is to reflect the true demands of this examination. We have therefore asked them to consider setting the raw mark required for an A at no higher than 40 out of 75 if their review confirms the exceptional timing burden and severe assessment-design concerns reported by candidates.

Your support has helped ensure these concerns cannot be dismissed as the opinions of a few individuals. Our responsibility is to ensure that the strength, consistency, and scale of student feedback is placed before the people making those decisions. That is exactly what we have done.

But this campaign is not over. We are not finished yet.

Results day has not arrived, and the more support this petition receives, the stronger the message becomes.
