In January of 2023, Los Angeles Barista's working for Intelligentsia voted in favor of Union Recognition with IBEW Local 1220. It has been 16 months since the vote and a deal has still not been reached between the Company and the Union.

Instead of negotiating a fair deal for their baristas, Intelligentsia sought the services of Action Resources Labor Consultants and the lawfirm of Ogleetree Deakins. They have presumably paid these groups tens of thousands of dollars to assist in their union busting efforts instead of paying their workers what they are worth.

We want to serve our community by providing them with a high level of customer service and quality products. It is difficult for us to do this while being bullied by our own company.
