Wow, we knew how important the Irene Thomas Hospice was to the community, and it has shown through the response to this petition. The personal stories and comments have been incredible.

Sadly, our father, Cecil Hardy, died on the morning of Sunday, January 17th. We were all with him as he passed peacefully. We want to send our heartfelt thanks to all of the nurses and staff at the Irene Thomas Hospice, especially the nurses Sara and Kathy who comforted and cared for him on his last night. The hospice became his home. It was because of this sense of home that he was able to connect with those he cared about, through phone calls, emails and in-person visits.

We hope that this exceptional care can continue for those who are currently calling the Irene Thomas Hospice home. We witnessed his stress and worry about having to be moved before February 24th and how it negatively impacted his health and well-being, as well as our own.
