Chester Bethel Preschool started in 1960 and is a non-profit Christian preschool. We have expanded over the years in order to serve our community and have spent the last three years planning a new preschool building. Now in it's final stages, the plans have come to a halt because of road work requirements being required by DelDOT. We need to build turn lanes on Foulk Road, but instead of allowing us to use the 4 full lanes of road that currently exist, they want us to reconstruct the road, taking land from neighbors' property and modifying the storm water drainage system. DelDOT is also requiring we add 1,000 feet of "transition" lanes to the proposed turn lanes, and we feel this is unreasonable. These road requirements are estimated to cost the preschool up to $400,000, which would make the project cost prohibitive.  Please help us to petition DelDOT to waive these additional requirements!
