Petition given to CCBC + diesel generator information

Update from Sam Hicks I met with Tim Stephens at the site this morning and the petition and supporting comments were delivered to him. I have been told that I will have a written response to share with you tomorrow. When I receive this I'll upload for you. I also have further information that I am looking in to that would suggest that these alternative energy developments are not as 'green' as they would first appear. From what I can gather (but I am looking into this and want to establish the facts so stress that this has been hastily put together) diesel generators are required to 'balance' the energy as the infrastructure can't cope with the irregular way that solar energy is generated. CCBC has already agreed 2 applications for diesel generators in Croespenmaen (less than 2 miles from one of the most polluted roads in the UK). The land is 'within the control of the applicant' (a company in London). There is a third application (on another SINC - site important for nature conservation) ref: 17/0023/FULL awaiting decision. According to the planning statement the proposed generators will require approximately 500,000 litres of diesel per annum. As I say, I'm looking in to this further but if anyone has any information or can help fill in the blanks with this please let me know. Difficult to see how the local community is benefiting from this and wonder how residents in and around Croespenmaen feel about it? Although not directly related to this petition it is something that I felt that would be of interest to supporters so I'm letting you know.
