Work on site forging ahead - meeting with CCBC tomorrow

Update from Sam Hicks As you can see, the work on site is progressing quickly without any firm public commitments about replanting. I was expecting to receive a statement to put here from the Managing Director at Gildemeister (the German developer) 3 days ago, but have received nothing - despite contacting their UK representative and UK agent Pegasus PG. CCBC have said that they "will be seeking significant replanting" - not words that deliver any firm commitment or inspire confidence. It would appear that profit is being firmly placed ahead of the local people and wildlife. The petition was mentioned on the front page of the Argus and Campaign today unfortunately the photograph of local residents arranged by the press was not used (due to a change of staff dealing with this I believe) and the piece said that "Developers are due to move on to the land in the near future to build a solar farm" - in fact, work has been going on there over the last 2 weeks. I am meeting with Tim Stephens tomorrow morning and will provide a further update with details of the response to the petition.
