From the Muncie Voice "Nice to hear the County Commissioners are reconsidering hog wrestling at the county fair. It should have been banned several years ago, but local citizens were ignored. Instead, a petition was started on Change.org getting attention from all over the world. Now, there seems to be some discussion about banning it. We have domesticated dogs and cats and treat them like humans and even protect them like they are human. However, the rest of the animal species is abused for food. Our local area CAFO's cram pigs into small spaces where they can't move until they are old enough to butcher. We look the other way because they are bred for meat. According to one county official, the pigs used for the fair are bred to be wrestled and are taken around to many local fairs. Not sure how that justifies it in Delaware County" Citizens should have a say in the type of events hosted in their city, especially when it promotes violence, and in a city with child abuse, domestic violence, and other violent crime. A city should also never exploit ANY of its animals to generate income!
